Epidemiology of Diabetes in India - latest updates from ICMR-INDIAB Study

There is evidence of an epidemiological transition, with a higher prevalence of diabetes in lower socioeconomic status groups in urban areas of the more economically developed states. There is shift of diabetes epidemic from urban to rural areas and older to younger people. There are a large number of undiagnosed diabetics in India.
